Effective January 1, 2018, New York State required New York employers to provide eligible employees with Paid Family Leave (PFL). This requirement ensures eligible employees with 12 weeks of job protected, paid time off.
The Paid Family Leave Act was rolled out 3rd quarter 2017, with a January 2018 start date and
included as part of the NYS Statutory Short-term Disability Benefits insurance, which had been required in New York State for many years. PFL is a companion policy: Billing and Collections inclusive on one policy.
